OUCH!
UTG limps with A5s and I have QQ. I put in a healthy re-raise and get a call. Flop is T32 with two of his suit. I bet the pot and he calls. Turn is a harmless 9. I put him all in (I have him covered by about 4500) and he calls, hits the river 4 for the straight and I lose a pot that would have put me in the top 5.
Doubled through 2 hands later with QQ again to get back up to 7500 after the blinds. Time to fight with the short stack! -Rizen |

Re: Stars 20k Guaranteed
You're on my table now... as far as reads go Card Thief is pretty loose passive (he'll call down with a lot of pretty bad draws). 21paul21 plays too many hands, but plays them okay. Trapper, Yuten, and Vense are pretty solid, although Vense likes to raise Ks and As with weak kickers (Js and Ts), tends to limp with his med/low PPs as well. Hope this helps, you've got a lot more than me now

Re: down to 24K
I won a big pot with AQ vs AT (the guy put me on a resteal). A bit later I got knocked down to 20k when I put a guy all in on a flop of QJx with AQ and he had JJ. I kept my stack around 20k while totally card dead and pushed UTG with AKs (1/2k blinds). MP called with JJ and BB woke up with KK. I did not improve and got knocked out in 175th.

Wierd hand with 2 tables left
So I was watching one of the final two tables play for the heck of it, and the two chip leaders were at the same table. TheNutters barely has Tuna covered. Both have over 1 million in chips, while the average is around 550k.
Blinds 10k/20k, SB (Nutters) raises to about 70k, Tuna calls. Flop comes K-10-8 rainbow. Nutters checks, Tuna bets 40k, and Nutters comes over the top all-in?????? Tuna thinks for 10 seconds, and then calls. Nutters shows K-9, Tuna shows A-A. Turn is a J, River is a 7, Tuna finishes in 16th place when he was in 2nd, but quite a bad move by Nutters. Very lucky. Anyone agree with either of these plays? I think Tuna played it fine, but watching both players for half an hour Tuna looked like a solid TAG. I just was extremely weirded out by nutters play with K-9. There is no way he'd scare Tuna out of the pot with an all-in bet like that. If it was smaller it might look like he had a hand. Afterwords, Nutters actually said "That's why you don't slowplay aces." No one berated him. Anyway, just thought I'd post this interesting hand. Brad |
