Music is essential to me for online play. If not that I'll put a movie in. The background noise is just relaxing and helps me play better I think.

I tried playing once with two tables open on upper half of my screen and a movie playing in the lower half of my screen, however I lost track of the movie when I played hands, so I constantly had to pause or rewind.

So now its just the humdrum noise of my family in the background.

I play in complete silence other then the chips chattering! If tv is on in any room of the house my office door has to be closed.
I can't even stand the phone ringing(i turn the ringer down)

It's too boring not to listen to music or chat while playing.

either sports, comedy central, law and order or MASH reruns on the tube (most of the time).
sometimes music (been listening to old Police a lot lately).

sometimes will even have low-volume music AND the volume from the game on while I'm clicking away.

My play is accompanied only by the voices in my head.

Music, AIM, TV, internet, usually eating a meal too. I get bored really easy, and somehow I seem to focus better when there's a lot of stuff to focus on.

For instance, right now I'm playing 2 tables(at home, small monitor), talking to a friend about a party in Athens tomorrow, listening to the Streets, watching CNN, eating left over Chinese, and typing this.
