I think tilt, by definition, is becoming overly aggressive. Its the overwhelming desire to "win it back fast."
I have never seen someone on "tilt" who suddeenly shut down and stopped playing. Its always aggression -- shove chips in the middle to win it back quickly. |

Tilt expressed by locking up is not as noticeable as tilt expressed by exasperation or aggression but it is almost as common.
I have come to see that the emotions driving tilt are almost always anger and fear. I think of tilt as a fire sparked by frustration and accelerated by either fear and / or anger. I feel that this is exactly what tilt is. The initial frustration is inevitable. Extinguishing the fire before it consumes some chips is where good and great are separated. Fear of economic loss Fear of a loss of face Fear of accountability Anger is often the result of fear. A desire to displace this fear or mask it by forcefully directing it at another as anger can often be observed. ANGER can often be a result of some sort of FEAR.
