I don't know what kind of dog you have, but it's a big factor here. A yorkie with a sweater is "acceptable" to some. My girlfriend walking my 100lb American Bulldog with booties, is well, just ridiculous.

I suspect that the dog doesn't wear the sweater in the house, does he? Do you get a haircut and then wear a hat when you go out in the cold? Gees guys, what's to understand?

If she just let nature take its course, she wouldn't bet out $28 or the cost of the sweaters.

cool dog, he can get away with the sweater. When you have a dog that looks like a pitbull's worst nightmare (he's really a wimp), in booties, you get some laughs from the public.

this post proves they you do pay dog related expenses.

Perhaps just not monitary ones.

If the dog doesnt bring back dinner from time to time, Its time to feed it to the cat.

Or as a very wise man once said "Dogs SH*T"

My dog's haircuts cost $33 every 12 weeks. Now the dog is cold and needs her sweater. My wife works and makes good money so I can't say anything about the dog groomer bills. I don't claim to understand why we even have an 8 pound dog that thinks she's 80 pounds and wants to attack me and the kids contantly but the dog is damn cute and loveable at times.
