Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
I like the line, "would you like some cheese with that whine?" or "if he really is so bad, why can't you beat him?" Lines like this usually serve to get the table coach mad at you, and so he stops berating the fish. I really couldnt care less if he's attacking me - i've got a real thick skin.
Also - if he's really being a problem you can use the invite function to send him a little private message telling him to stfu. |

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
I just did "stop crying because he's better than you at poker" and that actually shut the guy up!
Maybe it will encourage the fish too. |

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
You know, I was running Playerview today, and watching this table coach, calling other players (including me) complete fish. I was apparently raising with nothing, or some such. Anyway, it's awesome to basically see these guys naked. Tables coache's vp was 50, and had no preflop raise or agression numbers. Kind of the tuna calling the trout fishy.

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
I will sometimes try to get the coach to focus on me. I've suggested he "give the guy a break, he's trying to count your chips" or otherwise busted his balls by suggesting he's just pissed because he lost.
Usually I ignore it. Table coaches are generally morons on tilt, and rarely listen to suggestions. |

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
If I engage, this is pretty much the line I take. get him to focus his bile on me. he'll come after me and push too hard, and, sometimes, I'll get soft played by grateful ex-targets. something along the lines of "well, your way was obviously not the way to win that last hand" ought to do it.

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
I think the easiest way is to send him an invite and write him a message in that saying to stop it. It only goes to him, so you can be clear.

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
"How about a nice cup of shut the [censored] up"
EDIT: woops, I'm not telling A_C to stfu. That's a line I might use |

Re: Best way to shut down the table coach without tapping the glass?
Today I said, "Way to go. Maybe if you keep giving him [censored] he'll start playing better". Not sure it was a good idea but it worked... for a little while.
