finally an intelligent repsonse. this is what i was talking about. overrated means precisely that, that people hype them up unbelievably when they really aren't anything special. both things have to be true.

like when people were trying to say michael jackson is overrated. wow! the guy is a legend! can anyone really say he isn't "anything special". so he doesn't fulfill the 2nd part.

in short, nice to hear someone else say the doors are overrated.

this is comparing apples and oranges. you're not comparing them to each other, it's which is most overrated. i don't think there's that much hype about minnie or dmx, and there's been no hype for mollie ringwald for ages. the responses on this topic about the doors, are enough to show how overrated they are. they are average at best, but people treat them like gods. some of their lyrics are so god aweful, i'd be embarrassed to be a hardcore fan of theirs.
