No i play in them all the time. I know some players just try to double up right away with not so good of hands. I am used to that. My question was more of should I still go at these types on the first hand with the example I gave.

Okay - so If I got this right, you made it 100 to go before the flop.

your 4xbb (80) + your BB (20) = 100.

Each of the other players called your 100. Plus the SB who folded his 10.

So the Pot at the flop is 330.

You bet 330, plus your original 100, so you now have 1070 left in your stack.

I think you have enough chips left to FOLD here. First off, the triple up assures you of nothing. 4500 chips is great now, but with 2.2 million chips in play it's still a small percent of the overall chips.

The second thing here is the raise and CALL. As I stated earlier, with no reads on any players, I would assume I am beat here, either by a set or by 2 pair.

If your up against 2 pair, your are drawing to 3 outs.

If you are up against a set, you are drawing to a runner-runner.

Now, if you started with 800 chips, and had bet pot, it would be an easy call.

I am unsure how to link threads, so I gave it a bump instead.

It should be up there now.

Thank you. That helped a lot. You also helped me to understand the types of information I need to remember to include when I ask questions about specific hands. I will never have the fancy hand posting software that some appear to use but I can at least give all the right info. thanks again.

In a small $ tournement like you were in, that looks like an easy call on the first hand. In a more expensive one, definite (though not easy) fold.

So many people go all in with crap in those small tourneys early on that you have to think that you are way ahead (like you were) most times.

"I would much rather bust out in the first hand as a big favorite than grind it out for 3 hours and bubble out.

see my post titled "the EV of sex". "

Not QUITE the same situation. Your EV/PV/whatver for busting out completely skews this calcuation

Wait how is it ever correct to call 2 all-ins with TPTK?? I m glad you happened to be a favorite but that really has no bearing on what the corerect play was. Id assume one all-in was a retard with KQ or something but its hard too assume both were. What if one had concealed trips?? This isnt far fetched at all...
