[ QUOTE ]
Hi,

Thinking of going to Tunica in January (6th to the 10th) to play a few of the tournies. I have looked at a map of the casinos, and I am trying to decide if the casinos are all within walking distance from each other?

For example, the tournies are going to be held at the Horseshoe and others at the Grand Casino. If I stayed at Ballys or Fitzgeralds, is it a 5 minute walk or a 15 minute walk?

Secondly, it appears I will fly into Memphis. Are there free shuttles to the hotels from the airport?

Thanks for any info,
Ken

You would be much better off by simply renting a car, then you could easily drive when you want to and not wait for a shuttle. It would be very, very unpleasent to try and walk from Fitzgeralds to the Grand or Horeshoe. You would be walking down a 4 lane highway running through cotton fields, not down a sidewalk like in Vegas lol. Besides Fitzgeralds is one of the dumpiest casinos I have ever seen, they make Ballys look good. If you can't get a decent room at one of the casinos there are a couple little hotels right by the casinos like the Holiday Inn, I would persnally rather stay there than Fitzgeralds. Bally's is by far the worst of the casinos in Tunica. Fitz isn't all that bad compared to Bally's.

I agree with what others said, in that renting a car would be your best bet if you want to travel around. If I can also make a suggestion. RESERVE YOUR ROOM NOW!! Every room in Tunica will be gone by the time the tourney starts. Horseshoe is booked throughout the year on a regualr basis. Gold Strike, with far more rooms than Horseshoe, is booked for the whole month of Janurary already. Last year I know there were people staying in Memphis because they couldnt get a room anywhere in Tunica.

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like Ballys is getting two thumbs down. So now I am thinking of renting a car and staying at Fitzgeralds.
