you might wanna move to 3/6 before you to go 5/10.

Also from the way you talk, I doubt your ability to beat 2/4 for a solid win rate (one worthy of moving up) over a large number of hands.

well im averaging about 2.4bb/100 hands profit at 2/4 and im sure i could have grinded out a higher rate if i wasnt experimenting with some strategy. back to stheif, that is a good point about the bigger swing rate. I will keep it in check.

around 10k give or take 500...and i was simply asking for any useful pointers, not for one persons view on my skill level from a very general question.

if you're not good enough to beat the game, which is what Alobar was trying to find out, the most useful pointer you'll get is that your not ready.

you realize 10,000 hands is nothing, right? it's not even a guarantee that you're a winning player there

ive profitted over a grand at 2/4 in about 2 months very part time....this is not my question, my question was strategical changes between the two levels. That was it. I am a big boy and can judge for myself that I may not be ready if I win at 2/4 and 3/6 but lose at 5/10. I was asking if anyone else notices distinct differences in the levels.

i started with $100, doubled it, pocketed the original $100, then used the won $100 to make over a grand...to me, that is not bad.

10K hands isn't even close to being able to tell what your real win rate is. Even if you had 60K hands of 2/4 and your win rate was 2.4bb/100 I wouldn't suggest moving to 5/10 as 2.4bb/100 isn't high enough to make the jump all the way to 5/10.

I didn't mean to come off as abrasive in my first post. Its just that people are always coming in here all the time making some vague description of their ability to play as some sort of justification as to why their question should have some merit. 95% of the time they just play tighter than the horrible players at the lower limit levels and are on a good streak of cards. But since they lack the knowledge they misinterpret it as skill, and think they are ready to jump to a higher level and start making some big money.

Since you obviously care enough about your game and have a desire to learn (why else would you even be here), I make it a point to respond to posts like yours to hopefully disuade a potential student of the game, from making the mistake you are about to make. Its just after doing it so many times, I have become curt. It's no reflection on you, sadly it is a reflection on me.

Anyway, don't jump to 5/10, its suicide. Keep playing at 2/4 until you you can establish that you indeed can maintain a 2+bb/100 WR and then move up to 3/6, or until you get a big enough bankroll that you can take a shot at 3/6. See how that goes. Don't take the $1,000 you have won and try to play 5/10 with it, that is just asking for trouble. I wouldn't even play 3/6 yet with that.
