Re: GREAT FIRST HOUR: QUIT or PLAY
Clearly you have not read Theory of Poker. You should, this is an idiotic topic.

Re: An argument for quitting
Thats a good Point, but at the same time I consider a 20bb session win a good session even if its 5 or 6 hours. So if I can do it in 1 and quit I consider it extremely good. Its not that I quit in this case all the time. Its just when the variance does catch up with me some of the times I wish I had.

Re: An argument for quitting
If u run bad u play on forever?
Only reason to quit - for me - is because if I have been running bad for some time it feels good to have a few winning sessions, getting confidence. |

WTFMF
[ QUOTE ]
I've been thinking about this lately and I think quitting in instances like these may be the best option. Even if you are a stellar player you only make 4BB and hour. To make 20 in one hour, though not a rarity doesn't happen with too much regularity. This also covers your average for at least 5 hours. And the practically speaking your win rate will even out the longer you play. And I have noticed that although I go On for big wins occasionally, most of the time I drop some or stay about the same. Just a thought thanks for votes and any replies. [/ QUOTE ] i have no idea of what you are thinking. if you are talking about takeing down big pot and quiting while you are up a couple hundred bucks... ok good for you... smell you later. that's thinking rediculously small. If you are thinking about quiting your session early because you are up way above your typical rate, well that's pretty silly too. Assuming you are playing your A game, does it really matter whether your next hour of play is during your current session, or a year from now. (Answer: it does not matter a bit) |

Re: WTFMF
If that is the case it is just as Logical to quit than it is to keep playing. MF

Re: WTFMF
Yeah, you're right. It's nearly impossible but you find new law of playing poker. It's called "strike and retreat". It's travelled to poker from black jack players who are hiding from casino.
