Default Re: Why no rakeback if i already have an account?

That doesn't really answer the question. I wasn't asking why I can't use an affiliate, or why affiliates can't make money off of existing players. I want to know why I can't get rake rebate as a player, and why they're willing to lose me as a player because of that. I could care less whether the rebate goes through an affiliate, or if I could get this directly from the poker site itself. I just don't have that choice.

The argument that they have alreaday signed me up doesn't wash, because I don't have to keep playing with them. I can move to another site, and give them my rake money.

Assuming that Party makes less money from me when I play through one of the skins rather than them, I would think they're better off giving me back 20-25% of the rake I generate, rather than losing 100% of it. Or does Party make the same amount of money, no matter which skin I play on?

because rakeback is not supposed to happen in the first place so they'd have no reason to assume thats why you left to play mainly at another skin.

Because if they did, every site would do the same, and all they would achieve is lowering rake everywhere.

They have comeback bonuses.

Yes, but for someone who plays a lot, and plays high stakes (15-30), a rake rebate is much more incentive.

Try this in a local store.

Tell them if they don't knock 50% off your bill, you'll go elsewhere.

if it bothers you that much, there are some sites that charge a monthly fee, and take no rake. I'm sure someone here will be happy to spam you with it

It's likely that the profit they realize for giving you some % of your rake back but keeping you as a customer is not as great as the profit they realize by keeping 100% of the rake and risking losing customers. That can't be looked at on a single player basis (which is what you're doing by saying "But isn't 75% better then 0% if I go elsewhere?"), because it's obvious taken that way. The site keeps far more players with 0% rakeback then it loses by not offering a rakeback, and thus maximizes profit.

Again, this ignores the fact that affiliates are breaking the terms of their agreement with the poker site by giving rakeback deals.

It's called competition. Keep thinking about it, and you'll figure it out.

As a matter of fact, if you go into any "Best Buy" or "Circuit City" and show them that you can get a better deal on something from one of their competitors, they will match the competitors price and give back 10% of the difference. Even Walmart and Target stores will match any competitors pricing.

Circuit City also guarantees the price for 30 days from purchase. If you find it anywhere else cheaper or on sale in that 30 days, they will refund you the difference plus 10%.
