Re: Where to sit?
Personally, my first thoughts are: 1.) I want a solid aggressive player on my right. and 2.) I like having weak-tight players on my left. They have position, but they don't use it.
In general, I prefer LAG's on my left so, as noted in R&C, I get to see how the field acts after they bet and before it gets to me. Not only does this give me more information before I have to act, but it occasionally let's me trap the field for extra bets. But I also agree with turnipmonster & ML4L in that I prefer to have position on big stacks. When those desires conflict, I generally revert to the first two thoughts, but I'll mitigate the risk whenever I can, for example by putting the weak-tight player two or three to my left if it makes the LAG with a big stack across the table. I never like a LAG immediately to my right in big bet, but weakies can be wherever if need be. Just my $0.02 |

Re: Where to sit?
I always want position on a tricky player. Simple as that.

Re: Where to sit?
Reuban and ciaffones writing on relative position were very helpful to me. Ive found that while having someone raiseing your limps can be annoying, having position on the field can save you your stack or put you in a much better situation to double up. In a tournament i always want that LAG on my right as wasted chips and picking up blinds become so important. Devoid of read on players i like the one seat as you can easily see when the players behind you telegraph their moves (matt lessinger article pointed this out to me)
