Default Too aggressive?

Played in a 2-5 NL game last night. I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in MP. UTG+1 raises to $20. I re-raise to $50. Everyone folds back to bettor and he calls. Flop comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. EP checks to me. I bet $75, EP thinks, folds.

I know I probably misplayed this hand and could've taken more off of him, but I have been burned slowplaying so many times that I really only do it with the nuts. Any thoughts on what the proper bet would have been in this situation? Any comments would be appreciated.
