if u travel in the far east these are by far the most prevalent type of toilet

i actually was in narita airport once and i couldn't find a US-type toilet... took me like half an hour of wandering around to find one

The french not that long ago used to have open pissoirs where you could just take a pee in the street. In a way that's a lot more advanced than here, where there are only filthy enclosed toilets nobody ever cleans or even more commonly, no toilets at all.

Don't know if it's a true story, but in one of his novels, Wilton Barnhardt talks about this really scary drinking establishment in Mexico that has a urinal trough running along the base of the bar, so you don't have to get up in order to relieve yourself. Seems like this sort of thing could be adapted for use at poker tables, too...
