Hi i.s.,

[ QUOTE ]
I'm not asking George Bush for my money back because I voted for him, will vote for him again, and think that Iraq (gasp!) was a good idea. PLUS, I am a college student, don't really have a source of income outside of poker and financial aid so I don't pay taxes anyway.

[/ QUOTE ]

If you think Iraq was such a good idea, why are you in college and not over there trying to make that "good idea" work?

Maybe because joing the army wasn't the best option for him? Every person in Iraq at the moment made a choice to be there, and a vast majority of the soldiers there do not regret that choice.

I am graduating first, then enlisting in the either the Army or the Air Force, unfortunately neither of those branches has bases particularly convenient to me or I would be a reservist right now. I think its better to enter as an officer don't you? You get to tell other people what to do instead of the other way around. And really how could you say something like that to me without really explaining YOUR situation.

They're both clowns. It seems Bush has somewhat of a clue. Kerry has no clue whatsoever.

Take it to other topics guys.

Christ on a stick I'm going to be glad when this election is over. I don't care whether it's jackass A or B at this point.

First, if you "enlist," you won't be an officer. Second, you might well not be qualified for a commission, as you haven't mentioned completing ROTC or RROC training. Third, if you think that a junior officer gets "to tell other people what do do instead of the other way around," you are in for a huge shock. (Hint: Smart junior officers know how clueless they are, and let their SNCOs run the unit.)

Since you asked, USMC (1980-84), with one son in the Navy (active duty) and another in the Marines (DEP-RROC).
