How hard is it to open a bank account in (insert country here). i.e. Cayman Islands, Swizerland, etc. I live close enough to NYC that this could be a possible option. Would that work? Or is just living in the US the problem?

Does this mean that by having a card you are charged once to transfer money from your neteller account to your ATM card and then a second time to withdrawl from ATM card?

Yes.

You're charged $2 by neteller to put $1000 max into your debit card acct. Then also subtract whatever the bank charges you to withdraw from their machines. I use mine all the time to take out the max $500 from local banks. It's so handy for me that I don't mind the fees. Just make sure you try to transfer the max every time.

Some banks might let you withdraw more than 500 at a pop, so look for them.

edit: oops. plus the 1.50 neteller charges you for each withdrawal, I guess. I've never got a debit statement to check exactly how much is charged at what step, but they add up to a bit.

I can't see why anyone would want to use this card.

It's cheaper than a lot of cashpoint cards and much cheaper than paying a bank $25 to cash a US check

I just requested a statement from them yesterday. They charge me $2.95 for each visit to the ATM.

I ALWAYS take out the maximum on each visit to the ATM to try and keep charges down as you get charged the $2.95 irrelevent of how much you withdraw.

I am in the UK so not sure if the charges are diff for diff countries.

You do realise that you can now Neteller -> Party/Empire -> Debit card (Switch/Solo). No fee, v. good exchange rate.

I've had a Neteller debit card for ages. My only other options to cashout to Australia are a cheque in US$ that I would have to wait 2 weeks to arrive, then another week for it to clear AND get charged a bucket by the bank. Or Western Union transfer which is just daylight robbery. $80 for a $1500 cashout no thanks! The debit card I end up paying about $3 and I have access to the money in 15 minutes, much better!

Oh and one other thing the native currency of these cards is definately Canadian dollars so I'm pretty sure it's from a canadian credit union or something. They are GREAT for tax evasion as the card does not even have your name on it.

Is there a limit for how much I can withdraw from the debit card at a given day? If I use many cash machines?

If you play on Party you can get a bank wire transfer for $35. If you withdraw over $4000 a month that should be cheaper.

If you live in Europe, there really isn't a cheaper way to withdraw your money. As it is now (haven't gotten around to get the card yet), I pay $35 for every withdrawal.
