Yea I remember that kid David. He is a cool guy and his wife/gf is pretty cool. They are decent players, but the other dealer/prop/player Michael, I described is not someone who makes for a pleasant experience.

Just for the sake of argument, how does one go about getting a job as a prop/shill at a cardroom?

I think it's mostly (maybe always?) dealers or other poker room staff.

Just go and ask the poker room manager. But you will have to play any game they tell you. Your job would be to help start a table or fill it. So don't say to them "I'd like a job as a poker prop at the 4/8 hold em tables" [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

What would pay be for a prop? Just getting the rake back? $10 /hr?

In LV props generally only make 5 bucks an hr.

Go to California for anywhere from 150-250 per shift. depending on the limits you prop.
