Re: What do you all think about this name?
Nice.
How about "On the Come"? Or "Poker Rigid"? My old Granny used to say, "Show 'em what you're selling; don't be too fancy." (Stupid old bitch, she was.) So something starting with the word "Poker" could be best. Like "Poker Stuff"? |

Re: What do you all think about this name?
For a poker store...
Raise The Blinds - Poker Supply Store Like in a mall? Raise the Blinds being the main title and Poker Supply Store in smaller print. A friend suggested it and I'm kinda iffy on it. Any other suggestions let me know. So you want a bunch of strangers on an internet message board help you name your business. Nice blueprint for success right there. Do we get shares in the business if our submission is selected? |

[/ QUOTE ] I asked a bunch of poker playing strangers on what they thought of a name, I didn't ask you anything remotely close to how to run a business. Nice blueprint for being a troll, but you need a little work. I would think that the shops in Reno that failed were before the recent poker boom, correct? It's gonna be very small and will sell anything we can get our hands on. The main profit is going to come from tables that we will be building ourselves and will sell at a decent price. Tables around here are WAAAAAY overpriced. Thanks to all that posted suggestions. |

Re: What do you all think about this name?
How about selling blue prints on e-bay. Much simpler and has a better chance to make a profit, IMO.
I have to agree that a whole store for selling table is way overkill. Or if you want to 'go big', have 100 made and sell them to other people's game supply stores. |

Re: What do you all think about this name?
There's a shop in one of the malls here in Austin called "Casino Connection," and it's been there for four years or so. It's doing much better now than it was back when it opened. In addition to poker stuff, they've got all sorts of gambling supplies, including tiny craps tables and goofy slot machines.
So, yeah, I think (in the right market) a poker/gambling store could be successful. "Post Oak Bluff" =P "All In" |

[/ QUOTE ] was just about post regarding Casino Connection when I scrolled down far enough to see your post. Don't know why are all of these people amazed and/or skeptical about a store like this succeeding. The store here is in a good-size mall but in a horrible location. There is essentially no foot traffic tucked away in a upstairs corner. They still survive. How about "Stacked Deck" or "Las Vegas Strip" for a name? |
