Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
Actually, I do pretty much treat every opponent at party like they are an idiot, and I'm right often enough for it to be a very good strategy. This isn't 30/60 at the bellagio, it's party 2/4.

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
I would tend to think the exact opposite: I would think tpyical PP player would slowplay a King in this situation. I expect to see any pocket pair from villian in this hand much more often than I expect to see the case King.

I like your line here - bet out the river and call a raise. I wanna get two bets in here, as well.

If you dont believe your opponent has a K, why not c/r the turn?

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
It becomes a lot less likely that villian has a King when the third one hits on the river.
I may believe that my opponent fast-played trips up until that point. But when that third King hits, I start to go "hmmmmmmmm....." And if he raises me on the river and he made quads well, then God bless him. |

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
I agree, yet I always shake my head in disbelief when I do end up with quads or trips and I get river re-raised by the lower boat, and say "I was screaming to this guy I had a king...what an idiot."
Because ya know...I always get quads; doesn't everyone? |

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
Yah, it's probably a leak of mine that I don't believe that quads exist.
I've been in this situation twice recently. Once my opponent did have the goods, once they didn't. I raised the river both times. And sadly, yes, I capped it when it came back to me and it turned out my opponent did have quads. He had A9 on a 999xx board and I had AA. HE WAS A LAG, WTF? |

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
I also don't believe quads exist. Frankly, it's not even a poker hand. I would probaly raise, but not cap if played back at me.

If quads don't exist, why no cap? You're going to chop, so why bother?

Re: Drop your panties, Sir WIlliam, I cannot wait till lunchtime!
Well, he had QQ.
I guess what threw me off was that after having capped it pre-flop and three-bet him on the flop he still wouldn't give me credit for having AA, KK, or AK so I figured he had to have AK himself. On the river I guess I should have realized that the chance of him being an idiot was far greater than him having quads - thus a raise for value would have been in order. |
