"Off topic, but say you do 5bet, what's it like to make it $1,000 on a street (you know i'm not the only one thinking this)?"

it's pretty cool. but i was thinking earlier today it just doesnt do it for me anymore and i hope i get the chance to play some good 200-400 action when the next tourney rolls into commerce soon.

Default ok thread over

this is the answer, i dont know why i bothered really, im pretty dumb:

"In regards to the five bet decision, I don't know how anyone could comfortable comment on that if they weren't at the table with you when the hand took place."

the one nice thing is boopotts got it before shemp so that was good.

anyway i did call the turn and then checked the river and he checked behind and i felt so so ashamed and wimpy when i flipped up my aces. the rest of the table looked at me and sighed as if to say "what a fuucking waste of a great hand, what a shame". very embarassing.

my instinct was to 5 bet and 7 bet and shove it up his dumb asss and the fact i didnt do so means i needed to make this dumb thread and listen to all of you tell me im fine and i played fine and woah nelly slow down there 4 bets w/ one pair golly gee dont be silly. this sucks. i deserve it.

so that's about all i guess.

mike l, you shift the goalposts. If the question is what to do against an unknown player as you posed it, there's an answer and it's based on a simple math question. If it has everything to do with tremors in the force, it's a different question, for which you haven't supplied the background, and not something to post about anyway. If you don't like checking the river with a potentially better hand (unless you plan to raise), well there's a strategy for that to.

mike,

UTG + 1's play is completely consistent with a set of eights (along with the big pairs). If he had a set of eights, would you have posted this hand?

Maybe I'm just lost and tired even for asking this.

I dunno, would you have felt dumber the way you played it, or if you instead went 8 bets with him on the turn and then paid off a river bet only to be shown a set? I'd assume the latter...

"it's pretty cool. but i was thinking earlier today it just doesnt do it for me anymore"

This is the most disturbing thing I've read in the thread, unless I misunderstand what the second "it" in the second sentence is.

Toss in another raise, but if he six-bets, call it down.

I still think he's got TT-KK, but if there's another raise, I'm worried about a set.

BTW, have you played in PokerStars' 100-200 game?
