Re: Calling a huge raise with AKo
First off the call preflop is probably not very good since u are out of position but your missing a huge piece of info... You said he was button, so did you check on this flop, im assuming you did? Is this right? If you check he will usualy 100% bet at least 150 to his stack, so did you check with intention of Calling a 150 bet? Raising it? Did you think about betting into him, im not sure where my feelings are at on this hand.

No ID check at all EVER. Just like Commerce. No one is ever there to ID you anyway.

[/ QUOTE ] Sweet, I think I'll have to go this week since its like 20 minutes up the 5 (instead of a 40 minute ghetto ride to the Indian casinos) from me. If they ask for ID I'll give them my license and then just claim I thought you had to be 18 like Viejas and Sycuan. Oh ya 1 more thing how is the traffic on weekday nights for $3/6 and $4/8, also whats their lowest NL and uh how is the traffic/level of play. |

Re: Calling a huge raise with AKo
They have a few tables of 3/6 and 4/8 going most weeknights I believe. Sometimes they have 2/4. Their no limit is usually one or two tables of $100 buy-in with $2 and $3 blinds. And usually one table of $200-$500 buy-in with 5 and 5 blinds. The level of play at the no-limit games varies, from what I have noticed the small buy-in game is almost always filled with really terrible players who call too much, go too far with draws and have to keep buying in because they lose all their chips. The 5/5 game is MUCH tougher, especially if you arrive late in the day when many of the players have a few thousand dollars in front of them and the most you can buy in for is 500.

Re: Calling a huge raise with AKo
Do you go to school in SD? I am a student at UCSD, and I've never been to Ocean's. I'm turning 21 in three days so I figure I'll head up there eventually.

Re: Calling a huge raise with AKo
Don't even bother with the ID thing - just use one of the side entrances where no one ever checks.
I don't really play their limit games anymore but from the few times I've sat down at the 3/6, it's a joke; largely no different from 2/4. Never played 4/8 but it's Kill Pot, just so you know, and I think is filled with better players than the 3/6 and below. As far as traffic, the place is VERY busy. If you get there after 7pm on pretty much any given day, expect at least an hour wait. Kirk R. |

they DO check ID at Ocean\'s
Depends on which security guard is working.
What you should do is come in the back door. The guards almost always hang out in the front, near the bar, to watch the parking lot and scope out the honies in the paigow room and in the bar. Been there hundreds of times, and i can confidently say they DO check id. I'd hate for you to drive all the way there without knowing the layout. Call ahead and put your name on the board for the big no-limit, or 20-40 or 8-16 (I think these are the only games with call-ahead seating. you have 1hr and 15 minutes to arrive). Come in the back, sit at the first available seat, blend in, then go to the board. They won't sweat you much once you're in. |

Re: Calling a huge raise with AKo
I get ID'ed there about 10% of the time, and I'm 29.
