Re: Please review this hand
Hmmm... I didn't think of some of the things that have been brought up at the time, but the table was averaging a bit below 40% of the players seeing the flop. This seems about typical in my experience with PokerStars. I don't believe that this qualifies as a loose table at the micro limits.
When I said the button was generally not aggressive I did not mean to imply that I had never seen the button be aggressive. More a case of often when button turned up a winning hand and looked at the board, I felt that most of the time button could/should have been more aggressive. Perhaps this will better define what some of the posters have seen in the hand? Thanks for all of the replies so far. I appreciate the input. I will try and post the results of the hand later tonight. |

Re: Please review this hand
I'd bet/checkraise the turn. I'm not calling the river with K-high.

Re: Please review this hand
Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate the help on fixing problems with my game.
The results were: Button turned up 5h, Qh. Once the hand was turned up, button appeared to have been going with a semi-bluff on the straight draw. |

Re: Please review this hand
I would've tried to out-bet to the turn and check-folded on the river. If someone raised my bet I would've folded as well.

You have a four flush and 2 overcards on the turn. You cannot fold the turn. |

Re: Please review this hand
I would raise the turn. Even if someone has the made straight, you have nine outs to beat them, and if they are on the draw with either the ace or a pair, you have six more outs. Raising the turn might get you a free showdown if you hit, or you can bet out if the straight draw doesnt complete.

Re: Please review this hand
I consider check/raising the flop (to try to get heads up with the button who could hold anything) with a decent pot.
I consider check/raising the turn as a semibluff. I'd rather lead the river or check/fold the river than check/call. Leading at least gives someone with an A-high a chance to fold. |

Re: Please review this hand
[ QUOTE ]
in most situations this preflop raise is bad... in a loose passive table you'll be getting a few less than everyone with this play... KQ suited plays well in multi-way pots, but when it doesn't hit with decent but not huge crowds around, you're throwing money away... [/ QUOTE ] Granted, KQs will not win the majority of the time in loose-passive tables, but that's irrelevant to whether the PF raise is correct. KQs will definitely win a disproportionate share of hands, making the raise a +EV play. Let's say he gets 5 callers. Will KQs win more than 1/6 of the time? Absolutely. |
