Calling third is marginal but I might do it if all my cards were live.

Betting fourth without trips is not high on my list here. I would take the free card.

Aren't you more likely to be giving the free card?

Let me guess. You simply made that up and have nothing to back it up.

Given that everybody checked, I think I'm being rather generous with the hands I've given these guys. There's another pair with an overcard King, two three-flushes with at least one overcard to 8's, and a couple of three-straights.

perhaps, but I think you'll want to fold fifth far more often than you'll want to bet again, thus I prefer to check and see what comes up. I just think it's really marginal at all, and it's unlikely many or any will fold 4th, thus I'd just check and see what happened.

Your twodimes analysis looks reasonable and does suggest that a bet is certainly far from 0 EV. Given this data I will flip flop a bit and say that betting out is OK here.

You'll really like the #s of two players fold.

Is it really hard to believe that two players will fold after everybody checks?

I think three players may even fold.

Anyway, I was called in two places. I don't think I would have called a bet from most of these guys, but once it was checked to me it was very high probability that my hand was best. Thanks for the analysis all.

$0.50 ante, $1 bring-in, $3/$6 stud

What do you guys think of this structure? This is what partypoker is offering at this limit.

The ante is low, but so is the bring in. Would you try and see one on fourth with marginal hands since the bring is low?

The bring-in and ante are not low. Actually this game is structured almost exactly like $15-$30 with a $5 bring-in and a $2 ante. So as for your question about limping with marginal hands the answer is no in most cases. Realize that even though it only costs a buck to limp that buck is still 1/3 of a bet. A game with a 10% ante is in most cases considered average, notice here that even though its only 50 cents thats 16%.
