Default Re: Party Jackpot tables - $0.25 drop AND 10% of jackpot

Last night they were not taking the drop. They just reset it to 5000 after every hit.

Do the jackpot requirements really matter that much? It's either a lot of money paid out infrequently, or a smaller amount paid out more frequently. It'll still be the same total though.

The thing that pisses me off is that Party is taking 3 seperate rakes out of the jackpot. 1) The 25 cent drop. 2) 10% of the jackpot. 3) 20% more of the jackpot to start the next one. That's pretty ridiculous.

If it stays at queens full I can't see the jackpot building. Last night it was hit about once every 45 min. That's no way to build a jackpot.

I had just sat down 3 3/6 tables last night when I saw the JP hit 3 times in what seemed like a 15-20 minute span. I left those tables and went right to the JP ones

the 20% to the next jackpot doesn't go to Party, it goes to the next jackpot, and the current jackpot got some from the previous. That isn't a problem, and the 25 cents isn't an additional fee, it is just what makes the jackpot grow, so it is only the 10% fee for administration that is going to Party Poker. and $400-$500 for doing that seems a bit steep if the jackpot is $4000 to $5000 when it gets hit.

Assuming the jackpot is always reset to $5000 everytime that it is hit, then that 20% is money that Party would have to pay out of their own pocket otherwise. In that sense, it is an extra rake.

If the 20% goes to the next jackpot on top of the initial $5000, then it's nothing to complain about.

I was assuming the first case, but I haven't read the actual bad beat rules, so I'm guessing I'm wrong.

Its neither. The jackpot amount is 20% of the previous plus whatever the 25cent drops add. Right now the jackpot is $641.
Less 20% to go to the next jackpot, less 10% for Party;s cut.

Jackpot: $641
Rollover: $128
Admin Fee: $64
Paid Out: $449

Next
Jackpot: $128
Rollover: $25
Admin Fee: $12
Paid Out: $91

Next
Jackpot: $25
Rollover: $4
Admin Fee: $2
Paid Out: $19

Totals:
Jackpot amount: $641
Admin Fee: $80
Paid Out: $559
Numbers $2 short due to truncating cents.

Nice "10% fee" they have....
