Re: ANyone not play QQ here?
There was the day for me where I had five tourneys which went:
55 vs. A4s, flop 5QJ, turn 2, river 3 AK vs. AQ, turn is K, river is his 4th diamond for nut flush AKo vs. 53s, he flops a flush QQ vs. 66, he flops a set, next hand KK vs. 99, guy rivers a straight AK vs. J2s, flop has a 2 *sigh* |

Re: ANyone not play QQ here?
I'm talking preflop...yeah it's weak tight, but if your just trying to win a seat, it's move you have to consider. Winning the tourney is inconsequencial.

Re: ANyone not play QQ here?
let me give you my honest opinion, your play is perfect. If he can catch a 3 outer on ya like that, there's nothing you could've done. There's no way I would fold those QQ right there, next time ya may as well fold AA. Not that I would always call with QQ, but in that situation it seems clear that you have to call him. He was probably hoping you had a pocket pair like TT or JJ and he knew you wouldn't want to take a 50-50 against him this late in the tourny. He figures he can make a move, and you made a proper call there. Sometimes the odds are on your side but the cards arent. I play lots of tournies where I am top 2 or 3 in chips and bust out to #1 or #2 when I have the nuts on the flop, but they chase and hit. Nothing you can do about it.
Good luck David Ross |

Re: ANyone not play QQ here?
So, you think he can fold his way into the seat....I don't I think he has to win one more significant pot. I'll take my chances with this one.

Re: ANyone not play QQ here?
I actually think you might be right. Of course If I just keep folding and the small stacks double up, I will quickly become the small stack and regret not playing QQ.
