by the way, the posted hand where you apparently had 99 got you paid off here. |

Gift, can I ask why you didn't raise the turn here? If AJ comes over the top I think you can lay down AA here and save some of your stack.

even though it looks like the second 8 is a bad card for me, I would have been more likely to fold if a total blank had hit.
as it was I took almost the full time before throwing my money away. |

what street should you have folded on? I don't think I could lay it down on the flop or turn.

[/ QUOTE ] Why would someone move in on the river if a total blank fell? Nothing came up to scare your opponent into folding, so the all-in raiser is more likely to have a made hand. The board pairing is an obvious scare card that the all-in raiser might be trying to get you to fold the best hand with. |

takes away 2pair hands that beat your 1pair hand - plus makes him less likely to actually have an 8. Counterfit reasons...

without going into too much detail, i'm almost sure he doesn't have an 8. his earlier play was consistent with either a set or something like 99/TT. from earlier hands i knew he was very aggressive and likely to try a big move to run a thinking player off a slightly better hand. if the 8 doesn't pair it's pretty obvious he has a big hand and wants to bust me since i have to call with my overpair, right?
