Default Re: First Time For Everything... (5-10 NLHE)

my personal criteria for folding to a limp reraise, is if it comes from a tight player in early position and the game is very aggressive preflop. basically I have to be very sure that a limp reraise is actually what he was going for. based on my criteria, it wasn't such a bad fold. GoG made a good point, though. if there is anything weird about this player at all or even if he is a little short stacked I would not fold.

my only problem with your fold is he could have AK/QQ some of the time. most players that are sophisticated enough to limp reraise are also sophisticated enough to do it with more hands than AA-KK. I will occasionally limp reraise with as little as 99 if a loose player is raising a lot of pots behind me.

against a tight player I don't think your fold is horrendous, but I don't have a very good track record with KK preflop, as matt can attest .

I do think you should fold, and thought so before I read the results.
First is because it is highly likely he has AA. But that is not enough.
The main factor is you say this game is really juicy. On a post I made on a tough decision in a very profitable game somebody brought up the point that if you aren't going to buy back in, it is more correct to fold as you will find better EV situations by staying in the game.
To me, this appears to be the case.

Hey sd,

The "tournament" aspect of the hand is an interesting wrinkle... I was going to sleep soon anyway, so it didn't influence my decision, but after writing the post, I realized that some people might incorporate my inability to rebuy into their answers. But, I was more just sharing that as the reason that I was short-stacked with those clowns...

Thanks for the response.

In my experience, limp reraise is likely to be AA or KK. I donīt see much people limping and reraising with worse hands, but on the other side, a lot of limp reraises in tableS i have been on goes on uncalled. Maybe that is reason to call.
Yesterday, i called a limp reraise when I had TT. I had the player covered and he was going on tilt after losing 3 hands in the last 5 pots.
It turned out the guy had AA. To my luck I made my set and won the pot, but that made me another note on my desktop about limp-reraises.
Anyway, I have made some calls and have also folded once or twice KK against strong players. And I remeber 2 or 3 times where I had to rebuy cause I tried my luck with KK.

Interesting point would be when to limp-reraise. Open for more hands?
