You guys do realize that you are probably the reason why this bonus is no longer available, right?

This is one of the best deposit bonuses I've ever heard of. I know it's been widely talked about here and the vast majority of the people are playing until they get the bonus and leaving. A bonus like this is not sustainable when everyone pulls a hit & run. If the site and the affiliate see this as a losing venture, they have no choice but to discontinue.

Along those same lines, I think this is a significant factor in why most of the online casinos stopped offering such lucrative BJ bonuses. If they see a significan spike in H&Rs, they will not continue the bonus.

I'm not going to tell you guys how to avoid this problem because the people who already got the bonus don't really care and the one's who haven't are already SOL.

GL whores and get it while you can

My friend and I ran the numbers- and we figured that at .75 cents a hand- the guy's gotta be making 125 per sign up. Can't imagine empire is hurting on the deal. Seems like a win on all sides (although obviously the rake wins the most).

For the avg. rake/ hand to be at least $.75, the player would have to play at least 2-4.

You'd be surprised by how many of the people that bonus whore like this play lower than 2-4. However, that may be slightly higher in this case since most .5-1 players don't have $500 that they're willing to deposit into a site.

I'm not sure if you know how bonuses are treated on the affiliate side at Empire, but just so there's no confusion, I'll break down the numbers.

When you sign up as an affiliate you agree to receive 20% of the net revenue. You don't actually start making money off a player until the player makes enough to cover the deposit bonus. Therefore, if a player does a hit and run, especially with a bonus this size, they(the site and the affiliate) are almost guarenteed to lose money.

In this case, suppose a 2-4 player is doing a hit and run. The avg. 2-4 table is generating an avg. of $90/hand in rake. Over the course of 2500 hands, they'll generate $2,250 in rake as a table. Any given player's cut of this is $225.

After this player leaves without planning to come back, the site has just lost $275 on him and the affiliate has just lost $55 on him.

Assuming the hit and run is at .5-1, the site will lose $425 and the affiliate will lose $85 for that player.

Very rarely is it a win/win situation for both the player and the site when a player is bonus whoring. In fact, it's not until you reach the 15-30 level would this be profitable for both.

Thanks for the info. What I saw was that if the month gross revenue is over 10K (do you think that's reasonable for emp500) you're getting 25%.

Seems like where I'm failing is in the rake calculation, but your 90 per hand also seems wrong (.9 maybe?).

So just using my screwed up .75 cents a hand I was thinking that it would be 625 per 2500 hands. So 500 to the player, 125 to the emp500 guy? Or am I wrong, and the 500 isn't paid by the affiliate, but the site?

This amuses me- because I AM bonus whoring at 1/2, because that's where I'm at anyway- and now I'm getting a free 500 to play the same game I was already and I'll be done at the end with a $500 roll for tournaments.

This is correct and I'd imagine he's probably getting it, yes.

but your 90 per hand also seems wrong (.9 maybe?).

Yeah, I meant $.90. Small difference there but all my calculations were based on .90.

So just using my screwed up .75 cents a hand I was thinking that it would be 625 per 2500 hands.

Assuming $.75/ hand in rake, that's $1,875 generated as a table after 2500 hands. If it's 3-handed, then yes it will be $625 per person, but if it's a ring game, then it's $187.5 per player. After you deduct the $500 bonus, that's a -$312.5 for the site and -$62.5 to -$78.13 for the affiliate depending on the deal he has with Empire.

The $500 is almost certainly coming out of Empire's pocket. Well, 75-80% is coming from Empire and 20-25% is coming from the Empire500 guy.

The only reason why I even bring this up is because if for the good of the group you guys want this bonus to continue, you should consider playing a few hundred extra hands at Empire to make up for the loss. Just my opinion.
