I agree I think he left quite a bit of money on the table on both the flop and the turn, and probably could have gotten pf capped as well.

Just be happy you only lost that much to him, as there's no way to win this hand.

After the hand, you should've thanked him for saving you a good 3-4 BBs.

I don't think he outplayed you. He may have played well (I haven't seen the result yet, but I expect he has AAA or maybe a straight). It looks to me like you played it as well as possible. I wouldn't have felt threatened until his river raise (which arguably you could have called instead of 3-betting). On the flop and turn, I would have thought he was on a flush draw or straight draw, or both.

EDIT: Now that I've read the results (but not the other posts), and your comments about the results, I still don't think he "outplayed" you. In fact, I think he took a pretty big chance by not betting sooner because of the flush/straight possibility on the board.

By my count, you outplayed your opponent. Villain missed 1, 2, 3 raises for value in that hand, and you only made 1 mistake (3-betting the river). Your winner, in the green trunks, by a score of 3 to 1, Hemstock!

He didn't outplay you. He saved you money.

Don't criticize an idiot's play, that is your only mistake.

I agree, do u want him to play it right next time and win those 3-4 extra bets from you?? Then why make him even think about playing differently?

Villain is TAG and seems like a good and thinking player.

Did he outplay me? He played it really sneaky and got the best out of it. Theoritically, it's not a good think not to raise your aces. But in this particular hand, did he played me? Was I the dumb one in the hand?

[/ QUOTE ]

Theoretically, it's best to play your hand in a way as to make your opponents make as many big mistakes as possible. Had he 3-bet preflop, you might not have bet the flop, and might not have seen a showdown for a capped river.

Don't let your ego get in the way of playing intelligently. Playing intelligently includes treating other players in a way to *ENCOURAGE* them to make mistakes.
