Did I mess up somwhere, if so plz tell me. [/ QUOTE ] Just call preflop unless you have some sort of read on the whole table that you can take down the pot right there. The raise leaves you OOP with a huge pot, which you feel obligated to try to pick up because you raised preflop. Try to avoid this situation. |

raising pf in the sb with marginal hands is a bad idea in general, unless you run into some freak table that's incredibly loose preflop but plays weak/tight postflop
i dont get why you bet the full pot here on the flop. a smaller bet from 1/2 to 2/3 of the pot pushes out as many hands and is less costly when you get called and make a second best hand later since the pot is smaller. what did you put villain on in the hand that you thought you were beating? the way he played it it looks like he doesnt have a queen, so he's either got you destroyed or you rivered his 6s, 7s or 8s. id make a small lead against a predictable opponent and fold to a raise. (against a trickier player, maybe check and try to snap off a bluff, but you didnt list anything about the opponent...) |

your first mistake was raising it to 28 dollars pre flop with and AJo, you know if you are getting called you probably dont have the best hand preflop and are most of the time in big trouble. the flop was bad and you were right to bet because you already had put yourself in a hole. trying to win the pot right there was the right move. when he called on the flop that hand was over for you, the check on the turn by your oppenent was a very good move on his part trying to suck you in and it worked. when you made your hand on the river you should have just checked it down or folded to any bet.

You get your real information on the flop here, what do you think a player would call 70 with? 80+% of the time it is Q or a 5, When they check behind on thde turn it screams nuts. You then check the river and he hammers you for 125...... What do you beat?
There were no draws on the flop! PS. As others said take the cheap flop AJo no g0000t in NL |

Good points. Personally, I think some players will call that flop bet with a good deal of hands you beat, but it's unlikely they check behind on the turn with any of them.
