Anyway. Either go to the police and then try to get the money back from Party or don't go to the police.
Either way you learned a lot of lessons. a) The responsibility for keeping your passwords safe is yours. b) It is silly to have your whole bankroll on a site. (assuming your sister didn't rocket up the limits and she needed the money to play). c) If you don't want to go to the police you don't have a very good negotiation position towards Party since they will suspect player fraud. Good luck, whatever you should choose to do. |

Bottom line is, secure that email password/account. Give that info to nobody.
I understand that you were wronged here. However, this really doesn't sound much different from what could happen with neteller, firepay, paypal, yambo bank, any other poker site or any place else that you keep money with online. They are all willing to pass along any sort of info as long as you can email them from the email address that you have registered with them. We all know this. It's part of doing business with online gambling sites who ultimately have zero accountability here. I hope for your sake that you get the 2k back. For future reference, guard your email info with your life. |

I too think you aren't telling the whole story. Also...
[ QUOTE ] 3. Police Report-this seems unreasonable to me, my family member feels like reporting that she was playing online poker might get her in trouble. Which I agree. [/ QUOTE ] Where are you from and what the hell are u talking about? Why would the police care if you or your so called relative are playing online poker? |

Beanie, did your family member make any withdrawals during the last four months since she opened her Party account?
If not, I can't help you. |

...PayPal being the only possible exception.
Your online funds are AT RISK 100% of the time. You have next to no recourse in the event of any trouble. You gonna sue someone in Cyprus or the Isle or Wight for a couple grand? NO, you're gonna lose it. THose of you with large online balances would prefer not to deal with this possibility but that won't make it go away. |

All money on all poker sites is not secure. Live with that fact and accept it. Any one of these sites could close down and make off with your money and there'd be nothing you could do about it.
As far as this situation is concerned... I'd call the police and ask them if they would have any problem with filing such a report. You can ask the question without revealing who was involved. They won't investigate it but I bet they'd fill out a report for you. I think if you were hooking and got robbed by your pimp you could file a report. This is the same thing. |
