Re: 2006 ME - 2+ Weeks Long
[ QUOTE ]
We got to the money early day 3 of last year. I expect it to happen the end of day three in 2006. Unless you make it past day 5, you still only need to take one week off of work. And if you make it past day 5, we're talking hundreds of thousands of dollars so I don't think it is really going to impact too many people. [/ QUOTE ] Let's say you play heat A and bubble on day 3. Day 1: play - heat a Day 2: off - heat b plays Day 3: off - heat c plays day 4: off - heat d plays day 5: play - heats a and b day 6: off - heats c and d play day 7: off - no one plays day 8: bubble. cry. oops. |

Re: 2006 ME - 2+ Weeks Long
I doubt this will happen, although it would make for a GREAT tournament. Methinks Harrah's is expecting yet another exponential growth. Methinks they will be lucky to get to 5600 ever again too.
5000 players with room to play for 15 days would be a tourney specialists dream though. They truly do that, I'd expect 5+ top tourney players in the final 10. |

Likely they will be very good tourney players at the final table at this structure. |

Re: 2006 ME - 2+ Weeks Long
I believe it's the same structure as before, just spread out over more days. Everyone starts out with the same number of chips, and the blind schedule is still the same.

Plus they probably will only go with that schedule if theyhave more than 7000 entries. The format will be somewhat slower and probably will result in a stronger final table. |

Re: 2006 ME - 2+ Weeks Long
This bites.
Why the [censored] would Harrah's do something that would likely lower the field? Not as many dead money players are going to be able to take 2 weeks off from work in the middle of july. |

[/ QUOTE ] They took 9 days off this year. Very few probably booked their tickets for the whole event anyway, so I doubt this will be a problem. (And if they end up having to take the full 2 weeks off, something tells me they won't be worrying about their jobs.) |
