uhm Bankroll would be a good indicator of skill. The more money they have the better player they are. [/ QUOTE ] As evidenced clearly by Joseph Hachem, far and away the best tournament no-limit holdem player in history. A full 50% better than his nearest competitor, Greg Raymer. |

Re: MTT IQ Test
This sounds like a great, fun idea - but extremely complicated...I would be very interested in seeing how you progress and/or being a guinea pig.
Good luck. |

Re: MTT IQ Test
I think that a MTT IQ test would have to have questions about strategy, and not so much about odds. A typical question would ask how to play a hand like this early on against a UTG limper:
Table '13241924 36' Seat #9 is the button Seat 1: flmodesq21 (2540 in chips) Seat 2: JHRose (2915 in chips) Seat 3: thrillhill (3165 in chips) Seat 4: check_kills (3055 in chips) Seat 5: Joethegamble (4420 in chips) Seat 6: mrh86 (2725 in chips) Seat 7: sulcata (3120 in chips) Seat 8: GG X WR (2015 in chips) Seat 9: #1UT Voll (2255 in chips) flmodesq21: posts small blind 50 JHRose: posts big blind 100 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to mrh86 [6c 6s] thrillhill: calls 100 check_kills: folds Joethegamble: folds mrh86: calls 100 sulcata: folds GG X WR: folds #1UT Voll: folds flmodesq21: calls 50 JHRose: checks *** FLOP *** [Td 8h Ts] |

Re: MTT IQ Test
What would your answer to the question be mrh86? Say the question was worth 4 marks, what would you have to say to get each mark? If you think this question has a right answer, then that would be perfect, but if I am giving this to 100 odd people, then I can't go through each question for each person and judge it on its own merit. I need a more viable option.

Re: MTT IQ Test
how about something simple like this
explain why, if you have less than 8xBB and have a hand you would normally raise 3xBB you should raise all-in instead of making your normal raise. not too hard to mark, reasonably easy to quantify if they understand the concepts and possible to give credit if they make a reasonable argument about why the statement is wrong. |
