while this isn't a 'deceptive move' I might raise with this hand for value at a lose 5/10 table with 7 limpers to the flop. Pushing equity to increase the pot size with a hand that has 2 ways of winning seems like an okay idea. I say 1/3 of the time because it depends on your opponents that limp and this hand is not strong enough to always raise.

That doesn't really make much sense to me. Raising mediocre hands isn't a good "deception move." [/ QUOTE ] because you'll hit the flop about 1/3 of the time! if you're going to hit your pair or your set, best to raise preflop. |
