Re: Pay Day!!! (or is it?)
there is no direct deposit. I work for a smallish private equity firm in midtown Manhattan (well, the office is small, but the firm is a billion dollar firm...), and they do not offer it.

Re: Pay Day!!! (or is it?)
Are you really living paycheck to paycheck? If you are, then maybe you shouldn't be looking to blow money on partying. Even if you are not, the $5 in interest that you are missing out on isn't worth pissing off your boss.

I mean, I'll probably go out for New Year's, but I'm not going to be running up a $300 or $3000 bar tab. Unless she's a 10. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sorry, someone else in the thread mentioned something about needing partying money. Anwyay, my point stands. The interest you are losing out on is trivial. If not getting paid on time bothers you that much just say to your boss on Monday, "Hey last week you were not here on payday. In the future, what should can I do to ensure that I get paid right away?" |

I just blew a couple thousand bucks on Christmas presents. However, I don't want to dip into my savings account or poker bankroll. |

Re: Pay Day!!! (or is it?)
Ok, I just checked the voting, and it was 15-9 in favor of me waiting. The 9 of you that think I should get it, what do you suggest I do if/when my boss asks me about it?
Or were you guys just being dicks hoping I would get in trouble? |

Re: Pay Day!!! (or is it?)
Convince someone else in your office to go get his check and while he's in there he'll get yours as well.
