Hey Bunky,

On the AA hand, where you make it $8, is this a standard raise? Do you find that you usually get callers when you raise it up to 8 big blinds pre-flop? Thought that was interesting, because if I raised anywhere near that pre-flop I wouldn't get any callers. If you are, thats great though. As long as they don't all fold.

I have a raising pattern with all my raises. Keep them from figuring out what I have.

My standard open raise is $4.00

I add a buck for every limper. (rounded off)

3 limpers to me in the AA hand, 7-8 bucks is surely standard.

Are people limping in fractions in those games?

You think the AA hand was standard?

[/ QUOTE ]

Low-limit online, yeah, I think so.

[ QUOTE ]
One more hand for your input.

I have QQ in CO. 3 limpers to me I make it $7.00, called only by a limper on my right. I have him covered and we are not majorly deep (around 130 or so)

Flop comes KK7
He bets 5, I smooth call.

Turn 3
He bets 6, I raise to 18, he thinks and calls.

River A
Check, check.

A9o.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think I might call the turn and try to get him to fire again on the river, but the raise is fine (and actually might be better than what I would have done, as evidenced by his call with ace-high). Good check on the river.

Mike

"Are people limping in fractions in those games?"

haha. I think he means an even number such as 6 or 8.

I raise to $7.00 after three limpers

I still contend there is fractional limping.

Thanks for providing examples. I got to "number" and really started to worry.

When I meanted rounded off, I meant it doesn't have to be precisely $7.00 after 3 limpers. Whatever my slide bar hits first, be it 7 or 8 it doesn't matter much.

On another note, sometimes they call. AS evidenced by the # of callers of that size raise. (Both with KJo that they decided to go to the felt with TPGK.) These games are great when the longshots don't come in for the fish.

Haha, thanks dude. I guess if you make enough consecutive posts about something stupid people will enevitably believe you are indeed stupid.

FWIW, I kinda figured you mean that but you gotta talk slow when you're explaining NL to us shallow-minded limit folk.

I thought for a few seconds about how much to raise there. I figured them for some raggedy Jack, and with people behind me, I didn't want any more players in this pot. I decided on a pot size raise for 2 reasons. One, blows the draws out (or makes them severely pay), it pretty much pot commits me. I mean , I won't even have enough for a pot size bet on the turn, so once I decide to make it 40 to go, I know the rest is going in regardless. (with the exception of the board pairing the Jake most likely)

I dunno. I'll just keep plugging away. Thanks to everyone for the help and support, even though this challenge is really turning out kinda dissapointing to play and read.

Thanks, bunky crazy, not stoopid.
He would call with any pocket pair (and Ace high ), oh well, he has a nice note in my file and I'll be sure to milk that cow later.

Hope you run better as well.
