I am quite happy with the way the Pats played - particularly in the 2nd half.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think what he means to say is, "I am quite happy that Bill Cowher inexplicably got away from the two things that worked so well in the first half: running the ball on offense, and blitzing New England's beleaguered offensive line on defense.

Once these two insane "adjustments" were made, the Patriots looked much better on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, sure. That's exactly what I meant.

Besides this ill thought out lateral Randell-El dropped a pass late that hit him in the hands that would have been a first down. This got erased when Pitt managed to make the first down a couple plays later.

Interestingly, just saw a piece on ESPN talking about how an extra 52 seconds was accidentally added to the clock at the beginning of the 4th quarter after a penalty. Enough time for New England to get into field position and kick a winning field goal

The Pats INTENTIONALLY BURNED OFF MORE THAN 52 SECONDS! After a Pittsburgh time out, New England called a running play, then let it tick down before kicking.

Pittsburgh called a TO with about a minute remaining. THEY were the ones wishing there was more time left! Now we find out that they DID get exactly what they wanted--more time than they were supposed to get...and now they want to complain about it?

This happened at the beginning of the quarter. There is no way to say how this impacted the outcome as BOTH teams would have made some different decisions later in the quarter.

Still think the Patriots are playing good? If Pitt had not layed an egg, the Pats would be 1-3 right now.
