Oh man, you played their -EV game! Damn, they're probably going to ban you now. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on any future BJ winnings or Party apparel.

well, i realize that blackjack against the house is a negative EV game because they shuffle too often or continuously, and they make the rules so you cannot possibly win long term at least without bonuses.

That being said, i just saw something that BetWWTS is doing, and perhaps some more sites will start with , tournament blackjack. If that can be set up to allow for single deck games, playing player versus player, it becomes a real game of skill!

GameAccount playing for high stakes

EGamingReviewMagazine

Skill gaming provider GameAccount has launched a blackjack-based, multiplayer tournament product as part of a continuing effort to target and attract serious online gamblers.
.
The UK-based firm unveiled its new product at the European I-Gaming conference and exhibition earlier this week in Nice, France.
.
GameAccount provides and operates skill games for online sportsbooks, poker and casino rooms and has developed its products to appeal to serious players looking to take part in high stakes, peer-to-peer skill games.

Should be a great game for some of the really good BJ players, and probably lead to some more programs designed to play against the humans, but even then, it would be determined by skill of the programmer.

Perhaps this will get Party to change their game, lololol.

there is definite skill to tournament blackjack...and it's not just about counting-cards or anything.
In fact, that's not going to help you out much (if at all).

But by sizing one's bets properly and making correct strategy adjustments (perhaps needing to double-down on a hard-14 or something weird like that..when that is your only chance of advancing to the next round) then tournament BJ can definitely be a +EV game for the knowledgeable player.

Stanford Wong wrote a book on casino-tournament strategy that is supposed to be quite good (BJ tourney, Craps tourney, 3-card poker tourney, etc etc).
Wong is one of the foremost experts in BJ card-counting and most of his books were rated 9's or 10's by none-other than Mason.
before poker, I was on his website (BJ21.com) a lot which is pretty much the "2+2" equivilent of BJ card-counting.

I will very seriously consider checking out this site with BJ tournaments (and tracking down that Stanford Wong book).
Very different strategy from poker tournaments and sometimes lots of fun.

Please let me know if you locate that book. I don't see how you can make different sized bets, however. If you are playing head up, or in a tourney, don't you have to get the bet covered?

the BetWWTS was talking about head up tourneys. Perhaps there are other types. It sounds like you know quite a bit about it. I quit playing one dollar single deck blackjack (badly I must admit) about the time I found poker. However, this is going to be something I will try, for sure!

You dont play tournament bj against the other players like you do in poker. You play against the dealer still. The only thing your doing against the other player is trying to get more chips than him in a certian ammount of rounds.

Hes saying you may have to double on a hard 14 because you opponent may have already won a bet on the last round that would make it impossible for you to catch him if you didnt double your bet. You may even have to double on 19 in some cases just to get more money out on the table and hope for a miracle.
