There is nothing wrong with affiliates, they are merely advertisers.

For those in opposition I ask you this: Would you boycott a product like pepsi, or dominos pizza, because it advertises and raises cost? If anything, advertising lowers costs for consumers, as the company can sell their products to more people. Furthermore, because the company is selling their products to more people, they do not have to raise the cost to make up for lost buisness.

Perhaps you would like the abolishment of all advertisements, failing to realize that without them companies would go bankrupt. This is no different then, a person who advertises for gambling sites.

The only way to get customers is either by word of mouth or advertising. It has been going on for hundreds of years and it is not going away any time soon. Sorry

well thats all fine Oski but i got my feelings hurt by all those affiliate hating meanies

i sense that the anti affiliate side has been strongly influenced by years of enduring scumbag spammers and schemers - having been the victim of a couple of such characters i can empathise with them - problem is that affiliates are here to stay (at least in the short to medium term) and a zero tolerance attitude creates an ideal environment for more scumbaggery

that said of late i have noticed a lot of informative useful posts in the last couple of weeks about affiliates and rake rebate that havent been attacked by the rake rebate nazis

Well I would like to see a site that is free of the rake altogether.

We'd all like a site free of the rake altogether.

We don't want you involved in it.

I'll let the rest of the animals decide which statement applies to the business end and which to the moral.
