Techies Please Help! I can't get to neteller on my Windows XP machines

That's the first thing I did when I realized that my new PC couldn't access neteller. I had been using Windows 98 up to that point and hadn't had any problems. Their techs were no help beyond making sure I spelled neteller correctly.

Go to a command prompt (Start => Run => CMD) and type "nslookup neteller.com" and post the results.

I access it from a few different XP machines using both browsers, so it isn't anything inherent in XP.

The NETeller sign-in is HTTPS, so you have to be able to go out port 443 in order for it to work.

I wouldn't worry about putting in your name and password through a proxy, since it is a secure site. Most proxies just do pass-through of encrypted sites, and nothing would be stored/cached with your information. Even the cookie would just be passed through, and not stored.

I haven't looked up the knowledge base thing... did you try turning off your firewall on the XP network connection?

Yep I don't have any software firewalls running at all.

Actually, hearing that putting my username and password through a proxy isn't unsafe makes me feel a little better. I'm about to give away my Windows 98 machine to my nephew so I won't have any other way of accessing Neteller pretty soon.

I found another website I can't access: www.888.com

I'm not sure if this will help diagnose the problem or not. I wonder if these two websites have anything in common besides gambling and a means to fund gambling. partypoker.com, it's skins, pokerstars, ultimatebet etc.. load fine

888.com's ip 213.219.54.201 doesn't work
neteller.com's ip 209.89.100.66 doesn't work
