Re: turn play
[ QUOTE ]
I'd play it the same, and feel bad about calling it down after being 3-bet. But the pot odds are good enough on the turn to either improve or counterfeit villain on the river. The river is close, IMO. Does an unknown either overplay a pair of jacks or semi-bluff turn/bluff river 10% of the time? I've got trust issues, so I say yeah . [/ QUOTE ] I think we are beat >90% of the time villain 3-bets this turn. IF our kicker was better then I may agree with calling down but in this case I don't think we can. True |

[ QUOTE ] What were you trying to accomplish with the pfr jt1? [/ QUOTE ] One more sb before he folds to my flop bet. And half the time I improve, I'll have a very strong hand. [/ QUOTE ] jt1, to me this sounds more like semantics than poker. You're risking 2SB to gain 2 here. Against an unknown. And your 3 outs to TPNK aren't really that strong. I suspect that you don't even have an equity edge against SB at this point. |

I agree that it's a super marginal raise and I'm willing to concede that it's -ev if I can be shown why. But it's not a huge difference, either way, unless I'm changing the way the rest of hand will be played because of my play. I'm beginning to think that I should have folded the river. |

Re: turn play
raising pf shouldnt even be questionable
k3 isnt behind his limping range and you gain the initiative. initiative is worth everything in these tiny hu pots with crap hands on both sides. do this a few times and he'll also start folding his sb to you, too |

Re: turn play
Check PF and c/r the flop. The whole hand plays differently after that. The way you played it, you can't call 2 bets on the turn w/ a 3 kicker. Just let it go and wait for a better spot.

Re: turn play
barring info that says the guy is a maniac or somehow a running a genius bluff here I too agree you lose this 90% of the time when you 3 bet.
I take it you won though as 2 pair or straights on this board are everyday hands. Maybe he had air or JdXd for a pair + straight draw + flush draw. |

Re: turn play
i pfr here.
the deal is equity edge, i think. my hand is so much better than his and thus i like to push my edges. furthermore, a pfr gives tons of folding equity on the flop when we don't hit. additionally, we gain some bluff outs by pfring on later streets. |

Re: turn play
the problem with pokerstove is that it enumerates for all cards being seen. we play so well that we're rarely going to see the river.
but whatever: Text results appended to pokerstove.txt 3,613,894 games 4.844 secs 746,055 games/sec Board: Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 47.6477 % 45.54% 02.10% { random } Hand 2: 52.3523 % 50.25% 02.10% { K4o } --- and i think that sb has VERY close to a random hand. |
