Re: stud8: do you bet here too?
[ QUOTE ]
when seat 4 checks don't you bet 4th st and fold to a raise? prepared to be done with it. [/ QUOTE ]On 4th, there's a lot more cards left so they'll call with almost any kind of a hand or draw, whereas the calling requirements on 6th is going to be much much tighter if they are on a draw. |

Re: stud8: do you bet here too?
Under no circumnstances would I bet this hand on 4th-6th, and even if I made trip 6s on the river I probably wouldn't bet 7th, just because the pot's so small there's nothing to fight over.

The size of the pot doesn't have anything to do with betting trip 6s here on the river. A bet is for value: any two pair hand will call, as will many pairs. In stud8, check/calling 7th with trips is often a reasonable line, as you often face a made low who will bet/raise a rivered straight or flush. This is very different situation. |

Re: stud8: do you bet here too?
I just let this one go without really thinking about it, someones bound to call with a somewhat large pair not wanting to let half the pot go.
