This is precisely the kind of stuff that makes your ability to attain ITM status more likely, and of course, increases your chances of finishing 5th. I don't think there's anything wrong with this move. Things you need to watch for.
Size of stack of opponent if he folds (can he fold without worry?). Reads: Is this the first time he min-raised vs a push In this hand it's close. Villain has t1000 if he folds AND he has a 300 chip blind on the next hand, so he may not fold two overs, or a pair, but might fold a hand like A9. As discussed by someone in my JJ thread, a lot of times these guys get a small pair like 22, and don't know what to do with it (like folding a powerhouse like 22 is tough??). These are often hands I steal from, and they fold, and type in the chatbox, "22, nh." |

ZPM, um, there's a slight problem.
You're using EV of the equity prize pool, right? So, [ QUOTE ] If Villain calls and you lose EV=0%(-20.5%) [/ QUOTE ] ...is incorrect. |

I don't like this move here...but there are other spots where it is prudent.
1. Who is raising you? 2. do I need to do this yet? 3. does this flop look good for this? IF you put UTG on a PP, then this is pricisely the sort of flop that he likes too. you dont need to be doing this yet, I think open pushing is more effective. UTG is a bit low and won't raise 40% of his stack to just fold to a suspect push. |
