Re: I\'m thinking not raising with top set is a good idea
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Is it really that obvious to not threebet? I'm thinking I'm playing weak tight because I'm running horribly (I didn't raise the turn and c/called river UI) [/ QUOTE ] I think it's fairly obvious. If you 3-bet, he'll cap with K and that sucks because you kinda still have to call down here. He also might fold if you're ahead, whereas otherwise he may have taken another shot at the river. Basically you have to hope he's overplaying a strong hand without a K, and 3-betting is gonna slow him down if he is doing that. So you win the least, and lose the most, if you 3-bet. So therefore, nh. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed 100%. Before reading anything other than the action I thought "broadway" and call .... chk/call (if you miss the boat). What happened? |

I like not threebetting the turn too... but it just feels so strange knowing that I have the 2nd nuts. Thanks for the quick responses
I called turn, River was a offsuit 7, I check called and he showed KK |

Re: I\'m thinking not raising with top set is a good idea
I don't think you can 3 bet this. You have 10 outs to win and 2 to tie assuming villian has a K. I think I call the river even if don't improve.

Re: I\'m thinking not raising with top set is a good idea
Call the turn raise and check/call the river boo hooing all the way if he has the AK.
If you hit you bet. If not check/call. No one is 3 betting you here without the K. And if they were they would be not too bright so you win more money from them by call, check/call. |
