Re: caros book of tells
Bought it, read it, studied it and re-read it. Valuable book if you take it for what it is, another tool for your arsenal. Just by reading it, you are improving your game over the next guy/gal. I found the book very informative, especially with the DVD. Some of the still life pix in the book look overdramatized, mainly for effect of print, but it gets the point accross. I have used it aminly as a "what not to do" guide and have learned from it that no matter what my hand, no matter what the bet, no matter what is going on, you MUST pay attention to the guy/gal accross the felt and all of their LITTLE mannerisms (like chip stacking, for example) and to maintain my OWN table behavior consistently. Anyway, a long rant to say good book, use it as a tool though.

Re: caros book of tells
I watched the DVD before I ever got the book and I think I learned more from the DVD that I did from the book.
(maybe Im just more of a visual learner) |

Re: caros book of tells
[ QUOTE ]
I watched the DVD before I ever got the book [/ QUOTE ] I have the vhs tapes I found his concepts on the money (especially for using against old school players). It's unreal how some players look like they popped out of the book. His book doesn't cover tells on young internet players who show up at live tables, but I'm sure someone will cover that if Caro doesn't. In fact, I remember in the book forum there was a recent post about a new author coming out with a tell book in a couple months... Anyway, here is a tell I'd like to give everyone as a holiday gift: When you see guys who are 60+ y/o holding their pockets cards one in each hand and shuffling them back and forth--he's going to fold. I call it the Duffer Prefold Shuffle. |
