This type of question gets tossed around on the MTT forum all the time. If you know that you had a 70/30 edge on the leader, then folding here would be absolutely crazy. Tournament pros take shots like this early in tournaments with less.

The only thing I could see that would justify a fold here would be if there were 40 people left, and the top 35 all qualified for a seat to another tournament (or something similar), in other words, each prize is the same. In this case, you have a much better chance of winning your prize by playing normal poker than by taking a 70/30 shot against the chip leader. But, assuming any kind of normal prize structure, you can't pass up chances like this if your goal is to win the tournament.
