I have no reason to believe my friend would mislead me, but agreed that Hellmuth makes for great tv.

And while people may have been dropping like flies, there is real value to the players to making a TV table (and cashing, obviously). I think the bubble player would've taken meaningfully longer than any prior player elimination

Twenty eight hands into the final table and Ivey has added 300,000 to his stack and he is 3x the 2nd place guy.

Thing is, Ivey is only, what, 27 or 28? He could easily surpass Hellmuth, Chan, AND Brunson.

I'm checking the HH and Ivey is limping a lot of pots and taking them down uncontested on the flop. He's blowing everyone off everything and when it gets to showdown he has the best hand.
