Default Re: Name the hands (1/2 NL 6-max)

It seems to me like button knows that since BB is defending here, a flop semibluff raise with QJ/KQ/KJ is probably going to get 3-bet, so he just calls. Once the turn is bet, he doesn't really have much in the way of odds and folds.

I think AA or KK for BB is unlikely unless he is really passive postflop, because it seems odd to slowplay PF and then lead out the flop here (as opposed to check/raising). He probably has a draw himself or an AT/JT/9T type hand, maybe JJ.

I think he's slowplaying PF so he can disguise his hand strength.

Then he bets strong on the flop (assuming he'll get called with just overs), and again on the turn (wanting to take it down) although it appears that he wants to get called here. I don't think BB has a set though b/c I think he would have pushed PF with TT.

I think his goal was "make him pay on the flop and hope he doesn't hit two pair because I, like most SSNL players, cannot get away from AA and I really want this bozo to pay me off."

Which is exactly why he *wouldn't* lead this flop.

Why would he assume this?

For the love of god why?

What? BB is not a poster on this site.

Go log 4k more hands, then get back to me.

You clearly aren't ready to critique me, the greatest poker player in the Heel family.

Haven't looked at other posts.

Button: AJ, called flop hoping BB would check turn
BB: AT

Edit: I would not ever put a non-defending TAG blind on a premium overpair. He would have re-raised PF for value, fearing that the button is stealing and won't put more money in postflop.

OK, I cheated. I was the BB here and I was just sick of button stealing my blinds when I was totally card dead (defending with 84s and J3o is not in my repertoire). I had KQo but, as soon as the hand was over, realized I played it quite poorly. I can't think of any hand I'd defend my BB with and then play in this fashion on the flop and turn. I was hoping he'd make me for a set/two pair but I don't think I'd play a set this way against a guy who's almost certain to bet the flop if I check to him.

I have no idea what button folded.

Yeah, I figured you were one of the players.

I'd bet that the opponent put you on what I put you on: AT.

What do you mean by this:

[/ QUOTE ]

Does this mean you never defend? Please explain.

BB has a set, I am leaning towards 9-9. LP has overcards.

Button could obviously have a lot of hands.. I'm guessing A9 or AT or something that he caught a piece of, but just doesn't have that much of a hand.

BB may be just sick of getting his blind stolen, but he's representing a very big hand here. Could be 99? My 2nd guess is QJ.
