After browsing the site, I saw that I could play as little as $0.02-0.04. This was perfect! I decided to deposit $50. That lasted about 2 days.

Quite frankly I find this incredibly impressive. I'm not being at all sarcastic. I would've said it was impossible for anybody who wasn't trying to do it on purpose to lose this much at .02/.04 in 2 days.

We had the Playstation TV, the TV TV, and the random TV that was just put there and never plugged in or moved. The patio table and chairs were a nice touch as a temporary poker table that never got moved back outside. Also, an empty aquarium added quite nicely to the ambience. This story sounds so familiar you don't even know-- Just be glad you aren't a tournament addict!

Zetack,

It's been so lang ago, I can't remember exactly what I did with that first $50 but I am sure I played a couple cheap tournaments and also probably played some $0.05-0.10 (some of the smaller microlimit games). I am positive I didn't lose the entire $50 playing the $0.02-0.04 table.

I think I also experimented with a little Omaha H/L back then. At Canterbury the lowest limit to play that game was $4-8 and I figured I could learn online for much cheaper.

While I was in college I worked as a “leadout” at the local dog track. A leadout is the name given to the people who walk the dogs down to the starting box, load them into the box, and then gather the dogs when the race is over and walk them to the trainers.

That's the whole job? No picking up 'dog business' or anything? Sounds super easy, what's the catch?

No catch. It was super easy, as long as you could run 1/8 of a mile 13 times. It was 1/8 of a mile from the starting box to the spot where you have to pick up the dogs. After you load the dogs into the box, you had to run to that spot before the race would begin. I figured I was getting paid to keep in shape by running just under two miles every day while at work.

There were 13 races on a normal program, 15 races on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. There were 9 sessions duing the week and we would get paid $29 (It's been a while but I think this is correct) for each 13 race session we worked and $33 for each 15 race session we worked. The sessions lasted about 3.5 hours. For a college student this was good money if you just worked the evening shifts and a weekend when you could.

No, we didn't have to pick up doggie doo.

The worst part about the job was what called "Blow outs". These were the dogs that didn't "have to go" before the race but instead "had to go" during the race. Therefore, when we had to pick up the dogs at the end of the race we always had to be carefull your dog was not full of "doggy doo" from a dog that may have experienced a "blow out" in front of them.

Ahh, the memories....

I was just curious, I work at an animal hospital now and we get alot of greyhounds that used to race.
Sounds like an easy gig, I might have to go see if they need any help at the closest track.

Thanks for the awesome post. Man I'm impressed counting to a six deck shoe. Whew...That's some brain power.
My question, and one I know has been asked, is how much bankroll do you recommend. Currently I play in Casino 2/4 about 3-4 times a month, and am at a win rate of 2/13...not good.
But, I want to explore internet gambling, I was thinking $1-2, but maybe after reading your post will try .50-$1. How much bankroll do you recommend.
Also, are bonuses pretty easy to understand or, as my former spouse used to say, 'does it make your hair hurt'?
Thanks for the encouragement and help.
