The only game I know that does this is the NL Morongo game, and if that is the game you are talking about, it is definately beatable due to the quality of players despite the highish rake.

Oceans11 has this same rake, even in the 1-1 Blind 40Max game.. its ridiculous but beatable. after a few limpers the pot is around 4 or 5 bucks. I bet 3 on the flop everytime and tell everyone out loud not to call or the pot will be smaller.

( the rake is after pot is $7 )

The B&M I occasionally go to runs this exact structure. The players are so ridiculously horrible that I think it is beatable, but I've only played their twice and am down for the two (short) sessions.
